We are pleased to share the Zimbabwe Council for the Blind 2022 Annual Report, highlighting our efforts to prevent blindness and restore sight across Zimbabwe.
Despite the challenges of the past years, 2022 was a year of renewed momentum. With COVID-19 restrictions eased, we intensified our outreach and expanded our impact. Some of our key achievements include:
Over 101,000 eye consultations across Zimbabwe
5,400+ cataract surgeries performed
5,700+ spectacles dispensed
Successful integration of Peek Vision technology, screening nearly 70,000 individuals
Significant milestones at Norton Eye Unit, surpassing 2,000 cataract surgeries
We also strengthened our global partnerships by joining the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), ensuring our work is recognized on an international platform.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff, partners, and stakeholders. Thank you for supporting our mission to bring quality eye care to all Zimbabweans.
